Cat Litter Storage Containers
When you have multiple cats, it’s easy to go through several bags or boxes of cat litter in a week. Stacking multiple bags or boxes of cat litter in the corner doesn’t look that great, and it’s easy for the bags to rip or tear making a big mess. A cat litter storage container is the solution.
The solution is to store a few bags or boxes of cat litter in some type of container. But, what kind of cat litter storage containers work best? I’ve seen people use kitchen garbage cans with a lid and plastic tubs intended for storage.
There is also some very stylish cat litter box furniture that has room inside for an extra bag or two of cat litter. I love these but I am not sure that I want the litter box in the middle of our living room even if it is inside furniture.
They make some handy rolling containers that are intended for dog food that would work well for someone who has mobility issues. Lugging the boxes of cat litter can be difficult for the elderly or someone who is disabled.
Whether you use a cat litter storage bin or something else, it’s important that you keep the container sealed. This will prevent your cat from getting inside it. You don’t want them using your container as their litter box.
How to store cat litter
For convenience, it’s easiest to store cat litter near the litter box. You don’t want to haul a storage tub or 20-pound box of cat litter from one room to another every time you need to change the litter box. Be sure it’s tightly covered and in a dry location to keep it fresh.
