Dogs can eat cantaloupe and honeydew, but make sure to remove the seeds and skin before giving it to your pup.

A few other types of fruits you can use in frozen dog treats are watermelon, bananas, apples, blueberries, or other fruit your dog loves.

What do I need to make cantaloupe and yogurt dog treats?

You will need a blender or food processor and a silicone treat mold to make these yogurt dog treats. Think of them as a yogurt pupsicle. These frozen dog snacks are a nutritionally rich and healthy snack that your dog will enjoy.

I really prefer to use a mold but you can make them in the shape of ice cubes if you want to as well. These easy to make pupsicles will be smaller this way, but your pet will still enjoy them.

Do I need the stick snacks to make these?

No, they are optional. They are just an easy extra treat for your pet. You don’t want to use popsicle sticks in these treats because your pet may swallow them. The stick snacks make an easy way for you to remove them from the mold.

What kind of yogurt should I use?

Any brand that is unsweetened will work for these stick dog treats. Because this is a healthy treat, you want to avoid any artificial preservatives. They can cause upset stomachs.

Try Fage plain Greek yogurt along with fresh diced cantaloupe. You can use full or non fat plain yogurt depending on if your dog has a weight issue.

Homemade frozen dog treats ingredients

Makes: about 31 (depends on size mold)
Time: 5 minutes
Freeze Time: 2+ hours

• Plain yogurt
• Fresh diced cantaloupe (frozen cantaloupe works too)
• Dog stick treats

Directions

Add yogurt and cantaloupe to the blender.

Mix the ingredients on high until they are fully blended and smooth.

Pour blended mixture into molds or ice cube trays. Leave just a little space at the top so it does not overflow on the next step.

Cut pieces of the stick treats and place them in each mold to make a popsicle stick. This is an optional step if you want to skip it you can. 

Place in the freezer and allow to freeze for at least 2 hours or until frozen solid. 

You can place them on a baking sheet if you’re worried about spills in the freezer.

Ingredients

• 1/2 Cup Plain Yogurt
• 1 Cup Fresh Diced Cantaloupe
• 2-3 Stick Dog Treats

Instructions

1. Add yogurt and cantaloupe to the blender.
2. Mix the blender on high until it is fully blended and smooth.
3. Pour blended mixture into molds. Leave just a little space at the top so it does not overflow on the next step.
